Midlothian, Texas Offers Plenty of Outdoor Recreation

Cedar Hill State Park, which is conveniently located near your home, is a perfect destination for anyone who wants to enjoy the beauty of nature without driving for hours to get there. Spanning 1,826 acres, the park includes more than 100 miles of shoreline for fishing and various water sports on Joe Pool Reservoir. Visitors to the facility can also enjoy mountain biking, camping, bird watching and picnicking.

Both students and history buffs will be interested in visiting the Penn Farm Agricultural History Center, which depicts farming in the state before and after World War II. At that time, agriculture changed from being an industry of self-sufficient family farms to today’s vast “agribusiness.” The exhibits here include a 1918 barn, two granaries, a Model T garage and other structures depicting the life of middle-class farm families from the 1920s to the 1960s, a real glimpse of the past.
