Denison Eco-Friendly Real Estate is an Artists’ Haven

The fact that Denison’s Main Street district serves as a home to so many artist studios and galleries might come as a bit of surprise to those unfamiliar with North Texas and the Oklahoma border.  You won’t be surprise to find Denison eco-friendly real estate. Those with a strong sense of local history, however, can tell you that Denison has worn many hats throughout the years — from its role as a commercial capital of sorts in the mid-1800s, to hosting Texas’ first interurban electric railway in 1901, to serving as the home to a collection of Ninth Century religious relics known as the Quedlinburgh Treasure in the ‘50s. Eisenhower was born here, and both Rogers Hornsby and the Marx Brothers lived here. With those things in mind, it should come as no big surprise that this historically important town welcomed a sudden influx of artists to its downtown area in the 1990s, and now has two major Fine Arts Tours every year. After all, Denison has always done things its own way — and it still does.
